“The Truth”

A little boy from his infancy is taught a belief,

In which he understands mankind will find relief.

It controls his life and follows him throughout his youth,

The concept of obedience till death is simply called “the truth”.

This truth is different from the typical definition as it is defined,

It requires you to forsake your family if to your way of life they are not inclined.

You come to believe you are chosen by God as part of a special people for his name,

The only people who will survive Armageddon by following “the truth” they claim.

“A better way of life”, “a spiritual paradise”, “a worldwide brotherhood”,

Follow those who take the lead, attend meetings, place magazines, to prove you are good.

To die rather than accept blood, to refuse to salute the flag or your country defend,

Celebrate no holiday, avoid the world, all defines “the truth” on which you must depend.

This same “truth” requires absolute allegiance when the innocent are hurt by wicked men,

It demands the acceptance of answers without defining questions or your faith is at end.

You must practice “theocratic warfare”, which to protect “the truth” provides the excuse to lie.

The sacrifice of education, career, family, friends, your very life, for “the truth” you are willing to die

Does real truth protect evil, hurt children; support lies and personal integrity destroy?

Hide child molesters, encourage fraud, tear apart families, as theocratic guidelines are employed?

Or if a cult wished to control the lives of many by using the things described above,

What better way to cover the deception by using the “truth” to define the absence of love.
