Christmas Stories

MRS. DOLESAL'S SIXTH GRADE

Every year when I was little we never had any presents under our little tree. But one year when I was about 5 or 6 I looked under the tree I was so happy when I got that present. My mom said that she didn't buy me that present. Later on I remembered Santa. I was at the window looking out and trying to figure out if he really gave me that present. A tradition in Germany every year is you put your shoes outside your front door Santa will come and give something sweet to eat. So later after breakfast I went outside and looked into my winter-boots and both of them were full of candy I went inside and put it in my room. Every winter I will put my shoes outside and hope that St. Nick will come and give me something good to eat.

I remember having two Christmas trees. One in the living room and one in the dining room. The dining room one was beautiful with nice good grow up decorations by the windows to show off. The living room was for persons, the secret was that the Santa goes on one and the angel on. It's my thing. My dad's thing was he always has a train going around the tree. Good Christmas memories.

My favorite memory is when we go and get our Christmas tree It's is really fun we sit on my dad's truck's tall gate and it is really bumpy one year I broke the wire that connects to the truck It was not good. Then we get out and go look for a tree. We have a snowball fight tell we find a tree. Once we find a tree we put a hat on it and then we go see if there is a better one and if there isn't we cut down the tree that the hat is on. The best thing about that day is how I spend time with my family.

My favorite Christmas memory was when I was six years old. I was in kindergarten, and it was a week before Christmas. My teacher Mrs. Zauerol told our class to make a calendar, she gave us paper and we drew on each page. We also put the days on it. Once we had finished our calendars we wrapped them in wrapping paper. It was my first time wrapping something, so I had tape stuck to me, wrapping paper everywhere it was a mess. But it finally got done. One Friday I went home with my calendar wrapped and put it under the tree. On Christmas eve night my mom opened it. It got me so happy, she liked it! She did have trouble opening it though. That same calendar still sits in my basement.

My memory of a Christmas,.... first I woke up went upstairs and turned the stereo on full blast to get my parents up. When they got up my little brother and sister woke up to. Me and my brother went out side to build forts and have a snow ball fights. When we got back in we opened our presents and had breakfast.

It was Christmas Day at 5:00 a.m. My family, Mom, Dad, Rachel, and me, were at my Grandparents in Raine, Wisconsin. I had heard my sister getting out of the couch next to my. She was shaking me to get up. She said softly, "James, James, get up, Santa has come, let's open our stockings. Get up, Get up, Get..." "Fine I'm up" I said as I opened my eyes.

I saw the elaborate tree with all of its decorations. I was in awe seeing at least 50 presents under the tree and the stuffed stockings on the chair next to it. We rushed to the stockings eager to open them. We started looking through the stockings as we waited for the parents to wake up.

My favorite Christmas memory, boy Oh boy, do I have a lot! Well...

It was Christmas eve, probably 10:00 p.m. and I was in bed. I was very excited for next morning! When I woke up, I went down stairs and on the stairs leading down. There were those little Reese's peanut butter cups on them and right at the landing was my initials and my sisters initials, both in different colors! We ran faster than anything! Straight to the living room! There on the couch was so many presents in 2 different colors! The same colors our initials were in at the stair landing. I figured out that my initials were in red, and so were my presents, all wrapped in red! It was very very fun that Christmas!

My favorite memory was last years Christmas Eve. When Everybody came over from my dad's side of the family. My cousins, Aunts and Uncles came over. My sisters and I played with our cousins around the house and of course my parents talked with our Aunts and Uncles. Soon we were eating and playing around. Then after that we all sat by the Christmas tree and we started opening presents. One by one we were opening presents my cousins were around 6 and were tearing open presents my Aunts and Uncles and my mom and Dad all watched us as we opened them. Then all the grown ups opened theirs it was a great Christmas Eve.

Every year, we have the memorial of Jesus Christ. We go to the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. We sit and listen to one of the men, which we call brothers since we are united in a way, give a talk or speech. Then for 5 minutes, we pass around the crackers on a glass tray, and glass filled half-way with wine in our rows. I remember the first time I got to pass the wine and crackers to the next person. I needed some help from my mom. It was fun! I can't wait till this April to do it again!
